Tri Delta

Since 1888, more than 238,000 women have joined the Tri Delta sisterhood at 180 chapters in both the United States and Canada and have pledged to “steadfastly love one another.” This open motto describes the strong framework of support our members provide to one another throughout their lifetime of membership in Delta Delta Delta.

Tri Delta is leading the Greek world through our passion for progress and visionary thinking. Each collegiate member builds meaningful friendships and engages in unique chapter initiatives focused on developing her into a well-rounded and successful woman. Following college, Tri Delta provides many ways for our women to stay connected at every step on the journey of self-discovery and growth.

Our founder, Sarah Ida Shaw envisioned a women's Fraternity that would promote the ideals of truth, self-sacrifice and friendship. Written in 1888, the purpose helps to keep those goals alive among members today.

The Purpose

The purpose of Delta Delta Delta shall be to establish a perpetual bond of friendship among its members, to develop a stronger and more womanly character, to broaden the moral and intellectual life, and to assist its members in every possible way.

It shall also be the purpose of Delta Delta Delta to promote and develop mutually beneficial relationships between the Fraternity and the colleges and universities where the Fraternity has established chapters, to develop qualities of unselfish leadership among its members, and to encourage them to assume, with integrity and devotion to moral and democratic principles, the highest responsibilities of college women.
